Tendo Gloria - Make A Memory Update!

I want to share a little story behind our recording adventure in 2023 for Make a Memory. So, picture this: we're in Warren Ross's cozy studio nestled in the heart of Santa Barbara, soaking in the creative vibes and gearing up to lay down some seriously soulful tracks. But before we dive into the session, let me rewind a bit and give you some background.

You see, the track we're working on, "Make A Memory," holds a special place in my heart.I wrote it back in 1986 as a tribute to my brothers breaking up a band, capturing that bittersweet moment when we decided to go our separate musical ways. My father enjoyed the song and upon his request it was featured as the theme for ESPN's "The Fishin Hole" beginning in 1986. Fast forward to today, and we're giving it a fresh spin. Talk about a blast from the past!

Our secret weapon on vocals is the one and only Tendo Gloria. Hailing from the vibrant land of Uganda, Tendo's journey has taken her from performing with her spiritual group across the US to gracing our studio with her incredible talent. Not only does she bring her vocals to the table, but she also adds a touch of harmony that elevates the entire track to new heights.

What I love most about this collaboration is the fusion of cultures and musical styles coming together in perfect harmony. Using the lyrics I created from the genuine change I experienced with my brothers to Tendo's soul-stirring vocals, each layer adds a richness and depth that speaks to the universal language of music. And as Tendo continues to pursue her passion for both music and computer programming, I can't help but feel inspired by her dedication to following her dreams.
